Astrology, without the jargon

Astrology has a lot of moving parts, and most guides either assume you already know the vocabulary or wrap everything in mysticism. These pages do neither. Each one takes a single idea, your rising sign, the twelve houses, a Saturn return, an aspect between two planets, and explains it in plain language, including what it does not claim to do.

If you are new, start with the big three: your sun, moon, and rising. They cover most of what people mean when they talk about a birth chart, and the rest of the system makes more sense once you have them. From there you can read about the houses, which describe areas of life, and the aspects, which describe how the planets in your chart relate to each other.

None of this is presented as prediction. Astrology works best as a structured way to reflect on patterns you already notice, not as a forecast of what will happen. Read these guides as a vocabulary for thinking about yourself, and keep the parts that are useful.
