Mulank (मूलांक): your root number

In Indian numerology (ank jyotish), your mulank (moolank, root number) is the single-digit root of the day you were born. A planet rules it, and it points to your core nature. Work out yours below, then read what numbers 1 to 9 mean.

How to calculate your mulank

Take the day of the month you were born and add the digits together until you reach a single digit from 1 to 9. The month and year do not change your mulank.

  • ·Born on the 7th: mulank is 7.
  • ·Born on the 23rd: 2 + 3 = 5.
  • ·Born on the 28th: 2 + 8 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1.

Your mulank shows your nature. Your bhagyank (destiny number), from your full date of birth, shows your life path. Both sit inside a bigger picture that a full birth chart fills in.

Your mulank comes from the day you were born.

Beyond one number

Your number is only the start

Your mulank is one thread of who you are. The same birth date also builds your full Vedic chart, which adds your moon sign, planets, and timing. Destivio computes the whole picture and reads it back in plain language.
